Sterling National Bank provides grants to nonprofit partners that empower individuals and families to achieve success through quality education and mentorship, affordable housing and homeownership, and small business development and entrepreneurship.

 

Feeding Families

$230,000+ donated for food relief to provide meals for children and families in our communities.

Mentoring Students

Sterling Bankers help to teach and mentor over 2,100 Junior Achievement students with financial literacy instruction.

Supporting Small Business

$250,000 in recovery grants for education and assisting Black entrepreneurs.

Creating Financial Literacy

$100,000 invested in students’ savings accounts and financial literacy education.

Matching Donations

$100,000 matched in Sterling colleague donations to non-profits.

Where our money goes.

In 2020, Sterling awarded $1.578 million in grants to nonprofits supporting our communities. In addition to continuing our support of community development, diversity and inclusion, mentorship and economic development, we also partnered with organizations providing relief, remote learning platforms and curricula, PPE and other support to individuals and businesses impacted by COVID-19.

Sterling National Bank Partners with Goalsetter

Making Headlines In The News

Sterling National Bank partnered with Goalsetter, a Black-owned financial services mobile app promoting financial literacy and empowerment to K-12 students. Sterling joined Goalsetter in their national “Drafted” campaign, an initiative to bring savings accounts to one million minority students.

As part of this initiative, Sterling will seed the FDIC insured savings accounts of 1,000 students selected by Eagle Academy Foundation and provide a five-year subscription to a financial literacy curriculum.

Sterling National Bank Partners with Business Outreach Center

Making Headlines In The News

Sterling has announced its support of the Business Outreach Center (BOC) Network, a New York City-based community development organization. This new partnership will provide recovery assistance and relief to minority and women owned small businesses in NYC communities directly impacted by COVID-19-related financial hardships.

To fund the partnership, the Sterling National Bank Charitable Foundation approved a $250,000 grant.
