The power of kindness

Volunteerism

Because time is valuable.

At Sterling National Bank, we encourage and empower our colleagues to volunteer with partner organizations that align with their personal passions. By leveraging their time and talents, we strengthen our communities, our bonds with our nonprofit partners, our neighbors—and each other.

What We Do

Making every minute count.

Each year, Sterling colleagues donate thousands of hours—4,600 in 2020 alone—to improve the lives of others, and our communities in the process.

We match volunteers’ talents and interests with the needs of our partner organizations to address such issues as financial literacy, food scarcity, college access, mentoring for youth and veterans, domestic violence, affordable housing, small business support, community revitalization, and more.

Our Partnerships

Committed to serving others.

Our senior leaders share their guidance with organizations that share their passion, serving on the boards of nonprofits like Junior Achievement, Summer Search, United Cerebral Palsy, YMCA of Long Island, NJ Chamber of Commerce, Habitat for Humanity, Neighborhood Housing Services, New Destiny Housing, and Big Brothers Big Sisters, to name a few.

Looking Back at 2020

Strength in numbers.

From tackling food insecurity to preparing kids for college, at Sterling National Bank we believe that when our community succeeds, we all do. That’s why we support people, community organizations, and businesses in New York City, Long Island, the Hudson Valley and New Jersey.  We have highlighted four organizations Sterling volunteers helped to bring positive change in our communities in the last year.
